Background

According to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), there are 1.4 million children who are out of school in the Philippines. This is directly due to poverty. Many children cannot afford the fees for school and may work in agriculture to help support their families. Dean Salvador Belaro, Jr., a congressman in the Philippines, referred to an "education gap" between the educational training offered and the actual jobs available after high school or college. Our school will work toward closing that gap by providing education that focuses on sustainability, self-reliance, and our curriculum integrates the needs of the local economy so that graduates can get and help create jobs in the country.
